Hi David,

Although I have yet to blow out a single Lee Oskar, a few months ago I decidedtoupgrade to soe Seydel Stainless Steel harps. In a matter of a couple of months I have already blown out 6. At almost $100 a pop this has become frustrating. And I can't file down the reeds when they goout of tune (too strong). Today I had my Lo F blow out while refording Blues for Paul deLay. Since none of my Lee Oskard have blown out, it is hard for me to believe I am plaing too hard. Needless to say I've had it with stainless reeds. I was wondering if you could suggest a model of harp that would be suitable for my level of playing?

Thank you,
Taylor

Bummer... that's a lot of $. No doubt Lee Oskar harmonicas are well made. You're correct, volume is the #1 killer of harmonicas. You're practicing A LOT right now, and your advances are proof of this. Once you move out of the technique learning mode, which is coming soon... you're almost done with both tongue blocking and bending studies, you'll find your harps will start to last longer... just remember to play quietly... and be careful of playing with loud bands (this is tough to avoid!).

I feel the Hohner Crossovers are the best harmonicas ever made for what we do.
