I just went out and bought two C harmonicas ( a special 20 & a crossover). The first lesson is using an A so should I get an A to practice with so it sounds like the recordings?

Welcome to the site BKSBLUES. Yes, I do recommend you get an A Harmonica, though if you would like to get started now, I do have an intro lesson for those with only the C http://www.bluesharmonica.com/lessons/c_harmonica_intro_lesson
