On written example 2.1 I'm a bit confused and drawing a blank on what you are looking for in the chart.

 

Under whole number one I understand that on the four chord the c-note is a 1 blow and the V chord the D note is the one draw but on the one cord the g-note is not a one draw so that's where I'm confused.

 

Can you "throw me a bone "and clarify a bit?

Hello Thomas. Okay, I see,

Hello Thomas. Okay, I see, you're speaking about the test sheet. You're right, for the IV Chord you'll notate "C," which is the root of the IV Chord... and the V Chord you'll notate "D," which is the root of the V Chord. For the I Chord you'll notate "D," which is the 5th of the I Chord. You can use any of the three notes in the basic chord (triad)... root, 3rd, or 5th.
