I have a few amps(more than i really need). Should i turn the ones on that I havent been using and let them warm up? My question is will the caps and resistors get crusty or out of spec if i dont run them and should the amps be turned on every week or month ect.? Thanks

amp maintenance

Hello Brian- No, in general, resistors and caps don't get crusty or out of spec from lack of use. One exception is electrolytic caps that do "age" even when the amp is not in use. However, I still say that it's a great idea to fire up an amp every couple of months and let it run for an hour or two. Old amps with vintage carbon comp resistors can often be "hissy" for a while if they have been sitting, so letting them get good and hot once in a while is a good idea.
