Hi David,

You previously explained to me that for the purpose of this exercise, when playing hole 2, for the V chord, draw 1 would be acceptable. Would this also be ok for playing hole 3 and hole 5.

Also for hole 5 what draw note would I be using for the I chord.

Kind Regards,

Paul

Answer

Hello Paul. 1 Draw is the note D (Root of the V Chord), so the 4 Draw (D) would be the better choice when playing in the 3 and 5 Hole range... jumps are to avoided, unless for special effect.

We're not playing 7th Chords yet, so the F, though a valid note for playing bluesy on the I Chord, and is a common note in the blues, we're staying away from it in your intro lesson (you'll add this note in down the road). In its place, 4 Draw (D) or 6+ (G) would be a good choice for the I Chord (G B D).
