AB/AC chorus form

In the AB/AC form , if the B lick is the same as the first A lick but in an octave higher or lower is it considered a B because the pitch changed or is it still an A but with a variation ?

Answer

Yes... and... yes. I like to use the B label due to the fact that it's the IV Chord that caused the change. You sure could just call it A1, that's fine. In the end, use a label that makes sense to you.
