In Blues for Paul DeLay, there is a dip into an 8/9 draw combo.

I cannot figure out how to get this dip. Even on my one custom harp, all I get is a squeal. I don't really understand how a dip would be possible here since the draw on holes 7-10 is the lower pitch.

Any tips on how to get this? Maybe I'm not understanding something?

Thanks!

Hello Alex. The first time I

Hello Alex. The first time I heard Paul do this (on the cut “Say What You Mean” in Kid Ramos’ CD “Greasy Kid Stuff”’) it blew my mind too. You can do dips on the high draw notes (not that deep of a bend, but still cool), and the mouth position is the same as what we do for blow bends. Check out Bending Study 6 for instruction on this.
