5Y3 in a Masco ME_27?

Hello Bluevan-   Yes, you could use a 5Y3 instead of a 5V4.  The amp would "work" but I would I would say no for a couple of reasons.  First, if you really do hear more sag, then it is partly the result of the 5Y3 being asked to deliver more DC current than it is capable of.  Second, you may be burning through quite a few 5Y3s!

Ok , I'll leave it alone. It does sound good the way it is . I did re-wire the 2 6sc7 tube sockets to 6sl7 and run 6sn7s, I can actually play it with out the feedback getting out of hand.  Thanks again Skip.
