That's interesting that you can get 6 and 4. Usually this issue comes up when someone can do 4, but not 6. All I can say is that it's practice over time... working your tongue location somewhere between 4 and 6 (I know, I'm stating the obvious). Reminder... 5 doesn't bend down a half step, so don't go breaking that reed :-)
