Hi Kinya;

 When I become accomplished enough to play out, I aspire to play in an acoustic guitar/harp duo, ala Sonny & Brownie, possibly using a Shure SM-58 wiith a Peavey KB-2 keyboard amp that has a built in XLR jack, when a little more volume is needed. I have no desire to play traditional amplified harp in a typical band setting. Would I still calibrate my tuner to 442 hz?  I'm really just curious.

Hi Mainmark, where can we buy

Hi Mainmark, where can we buy your CD ;o)

Yes--442Hz, because regardless of your playing style, there will be moments of passion when you breath heavier through the harmonica. This will lower your pitch ... in addition, you'll notice when you tune without the coverplate, the pitch will be slightly sharp; so by the time you reattach the cover plates and play--your true pitch will hover around 440Hz (which will be in tune with other instruments in the band).

I'll send you a free CD as soon as I produce one.

Thanks for the reply Kinya. I know I'm getting way ahead of myself but I've got the Blues Harp Bug really bad!

You'll get the first CD when I make one :)

This is all very cool!

i'm making good progress in my playing, but the harp tech side of things appeals to me very much as well. Back in the late 70's to mid-80's, I repaired office equipment and actually fabricated some of my own tools, and I got pretty good at repairs, seldom having a recall. I carried a lot of tools and parts on service calls. I've been a tool-geek ever since.
