The 3 Draw on any G Harmonica I have is difficult to play.  I've watched your video on 3 Draw issues, but even when I can play the 3 Draw, and move to 4 Blow, when I return to 3 Draw I get an airy or high pitched noise again.  What do I need to do differently?

Hello Lou K. My guess is that

Hello Lou K. My guess is that your tongue is moving slightly when moving to the 4+ and then when you move back to the 3 draw it moves slightly again... raising a tad, just enough to cause that reed to have issues. Remember to check your tongue location in the mirror. Take the harmonica out of your mouth, open your mouth a little bit more so you can see inside better, lower the middle and back of your tongue to the floor of the mouth. If the middle or back of your tongue is humped while playing the 3 draw this issue will occur. Experiment, this takes time.

Thanks

Thanks David.  Yes, your guess was correct and very helpful.  I played the sequence on a tuner, and could see the return to the 3 Draw was bending unintentionally.

Cool. Now the practice is not to bend it!... easier said than done ;-)
