Hello,

Greetings from Mexico! I'm new to the site just going through some of the lessons, but this is something that I have been wondering for a while, when do you use the 2nd draw and when the 3rd blow? I generally end up alwasy using the 2nd draw,

Also, It would be great to have a search bar in the forum that way you can track a certain topic without repiting them.

Hello Danielgs1847. There are

Hello Danielgs1847. There are many reasons why one may choose one over the other. Here are some...

1) Use the 3+ when you need to get air

2) Use the 3+ when you want a bigger sound with a tongue block slap (2 draw has the 1 and 2 draw chord preceeding the single note, where the 3+ has. the 1+, 2+, and 3+)

3) Use the 3+ when it makes the lick easier, or more smooth to play (2 4+ 3+ 3 2 for example, instead of 2 4+ 2 3 2).

4) Use 3+ for new players to the harmonica... the 2 draw is difficult.

5) Generally use the 2 draw when you proceed or follow it with a 2"

6) Use the 2 draw when playing a fast draw passage, and 3+ when you're playing a fast blow passage

There are other special circumstances, but these cover the majority of their usages.
