I am planning to play at my 1st jam, in 5 weeks time. nominated songs (all in E) are mojo, before you accuse me, sweet home chicago. i have some experience at mojo, but not the others. i have quite a few versions of SHC to learn from, but would appreciate any pointers to a good version of BYAM. also, any good lessons based on these songs.
all advice appreciated,
thanks, Dave

Those are all safe choices. Mojo is, well, a "Mojo" beat and the others are standard shuffles. You can use the solos you've studied from "Temperature" and "Gary's Blues" for the two shuffle. You can use licks from "The Strut" for Mojo.

Listen to each song and make a point to listen to where each song starts so you can call it (for example, in Clapton's version of "Before You Accuse Me" he starts from the turnaround and there's a quick change in the song... this is where bar two is a IV Chord).

Have fun!

The official name for the beat that's played behind Mojo is called a cut-shuffle!

I've heard that term...

I've heard that term as well... it's also known as a Two-Beat. Calling it a "Mojo" beat is best though... in my experiance.
