Do you have any suggestions on the 1st hole bend for some reason this has been the most frustrating for me. According to my tuner I'm getting all three steps out of the 3rd hole but I wouldn't always call them musical pitches. I can obtain the 1st hole bend if I pucker but not so much if I tongue block all my other bends are tongue blocked. Thanks for any advice you have.

Answer

I would bet that you're trying to drop your jaw too much and trying to control the bend too far back in the mouth. Try humping your tongue UP and FORWARD and see if that changes things.
