Hello David, i can't find the area of constriction for 1 draw.. Is it the "Key" or the "Koo" location? The tongue is on the right of the hole 1 and it's confusing me.. I can't move it like i do for the holes 2,3,4,6.

Hello Elsa P. Though the

Hello Elsa P.

Though the front of the tongue is slightly angled to the left or right when tongue blocking, it straightens out quickly, so the tongue is centered in the mouth when humping up for a bend.

Without the harmonica in your mouth, move the front of your tongue slightly to the left and hump it in the back for a bend. Then move the tongue slightly to the right and hump the same part of the tongue in the back that you just did. This exercise will train your brain to recognize that there is no difference of tongue movement for the back for the bend.

For the 1 bend, hump your tongue further back in your mouth ("ooh" range), behind your molars, at your gum line.

Hello again! I think i am

Hello again! I think i am doing something wrong here... I move my jaw downward trying to bend the first three holes. I don't really understand why am i doing this.. for some reason it feels like "tuning" my mouth. Is it a mistake to move the jaw???

Hello Elsa P. It's not

Hello Elsa P. It's not uncommon for players to lower their jaw (and for some, jutting their jaws forward) for low-pitched bends. It is about making the mouth cavity larger to deal with tuning your mouth to those lower reeds. With time, you may find that you'll not need to do this for the A Harmonica and keys above the A. You may find that this technique is still useful for the G Harmonica and lower keys.
