Hello Harp Techs, have you all discovered the benefits of good REED GAPPING to enhance your harmonica player’s experience?

Why it Matters

“Eyeballing” (guessing) reed gap tolerances is OK, but using precision tools and templates will guarantee more consistent and AMAZING results!

Try this:

The above Reed Gap Calibrations are an excellent place to start your journey. You can increase/decrease as Player preference dictates. Shown in inches not metric.

Above is a sampling of Blank Charts. Perfect for documenting your personal collection of harmonicas, and a must for those of you who service customer’s harmonicas

I located this set of Spurtar 32 Blades Steel Feeler Gauge Measurement Tool for $8.99 on the internet

Bottom Line

Imagine how wonderful it would be if all your clothes fit like custom tailored suits. Similarly it does not take much effort to personalize your harmonicas and deliver consistent setups to your customers ;o)

I've been lurking around.

I've been lurking around. Nice to know I've been missed!

Lately, most of my harpsmithing has just been fixing octaves. A couple of years ago, I gapped a then unplayable Promaster according to your videos, and it made a huge difference.
