What to Bring - Playing with Others Series

To make these tips a little more organized, each month I'm going to have a main topic that we'll follow... this month, playing with others.

What to Bring
In short, bring all your harps if you want to have your bases covered, especially if you haven't played with this group of people before. If there are keyboards, horns, woodwinds or vocals, all of these voices can choose keys that you may not use on a regular basis. If you want to bring a short set, the most common five harps used are G, A, B-flat, C and D. The 6th would be an F or Low-F. The 7th would be an E-flat. The more you can play in positions, the farther your short set can take you... for example... B-flat harp can play in F in 2nd Position, Bb in 1st Position and C in 3rd Position.
