This week's MORSEL deals with being thankful -THAT YOUR GEAR ACTUALLY WORKS when you need it to!

The stories are plentiful of musicians/harpsters setting-up for a practice, jam, or GIG, going for the first intro chords -and nothing! No sound, only the faint hum of embarrassment between your ears. WELL, IT SHOULD WORK, sez you! In a perfect world, sure...
Never assume that the gear you pack is going to function AS YOU IMAGINE IT SHOULD. Find the pitfalls and problems before you drag it all out in front of witnesses. Get into the habit of setting-up and testing EVERYTHING you will be using at a performance BEFORE packing for said performance. Mics, cables, adapters, pedals, amps, power strips, whatever you intend to utilize. Make sure it all works TOGETHER. Some components don't integrate as well as you'd think they might. This certainly goes for harpmics.
TEST DRIVE! ASSUME NOTHING!
Turkey sandwich, anyone?
