Today's tip comes from the seventh song of my concert set at Steve Baker's Harmonica Masters Workshop.

"Feelin' for the Blues" is in A and is played on the G Harmonica in 3rd Position, D Harmonica in 2nd Position and A Harmonica in 1st Position.

Your tip...

Placing a song in a multi-position friendly key allows you many options as a soloist. This song is in A, but G is also a good key. D is a great key if you like to play the chromatic. Note that my first solo is on the bullet mic... second solo is on the vocal mic... and the third solo is off mic, on the edge of the stage to the audience... this gives many tonal presentations to the audience. Finally, note the dynamic usage in this song again... bringing the band down at the beginning of each solo... it's very effective.
