... nothing borrowed, and ALL blues!

Just got two great CDs from Charlie Lange at www.bluebeatmusic.com:

The old one is Testament Records' Johnny Young and His Friends, 18 great cuts recorded between 1962 and 1968 with folks like Little Walter, Big Walter, John Wrencher and Slim Willis on harmonica duty. Some of which had never before been released. I first discovered Young and his outstanding vocals and mandolin playing on the three-record Vanguard Chicago/The Blues/Today! set while in High School over 56 years ago. Young was a greatly underappreciated Chicago bluesman who deserves to be heard more widely. Sadly, this CD is now out of print, but Charlie may have a few left.

The new one is RJ Mischo's latest, In Finland, recorded live in studio in Finland with some great Finnish musicians. Always love RJ's stuff, and from the liner notes it looks as if Charlie and bluebeatmusic were the actual producer.

So much great music; so little time.
