Pretty much all based on Dave's Sonny Boy Williamson Artist study. I used one of those Low C 12-hole Hohner Marine Bands.

Diferente Alcatraz

Different backing track (by Veijo Frosty on HarmonicaBoogie) that I thought I'd try. Low E in 1st for four choruses, A harp in 2nd for three choruses and then last chorus on Low E. Fairly simple melody lines but it was a good chance to try playing 1st and 2nd positions as an exercise.

After hearing all the cool chromatic tracks recently uploaded, thought I'd give it a shot.

Somewhere within the lessons there's quietly staying lonely pdf - June 2011 Newsletter containing transcribed by David the Slim Harpo's famous hit "Baby Scratch My Back" ..... (I believe it was in Improvising Study 5 - Turnarounds :-) )

Shoblues backing track was used, Bends B flat harmonica, I played staying sidewards to the computer in order to make the wa-wa sounds little better ....

Bye Bye Bird

Cover of Bye Bye Bird with some variations. Always liked the 'simplicity' of this song and wanted to try it. Some timing issues at beginning when working the bass track into the harp/vocal track. Singing through the harp into the mic to try to keep the rhythm lines going was bought to get used to. Low D harp is so much fun!!

This was my first recording with my 'new' MegaTone aWezo-18 amp that I'm quickly falling in love with.

My Babe

Yet another cover of Little Walter's My Babe.

What can I say about it ... I've been playing with that tune for the last few months but final breakthrough came with 'Ma Babe' backing track by Shoblues. There is a big difference playing along with a famous recording and playing alone with a backing track trying to reproduce accurately what you've been practicing with the recording :-) . First you feel like you've left your crutches away and don't know where you are .... continue reading...

Done Some Body Wrong

This was from a night out with the boys recorded on an H4. A neat little toy to have around. You'd be surprised at how easy it is to catch what you're doing out there and how important it is to be own critic. Remember you can't be in two places at once and you get a truly objective account of whats goin' on. If you really want to get brave, video and you can work on your stage presents while you're at it. By the way we were playing at a bar during the World Series Game last year and the crowd was rootin for the game, ( but not really in my mind ).

Complicated Mind

This tune was created while I was working on the Shuffle King contest. I got so frustrated and tired that I decided to create a diiferent song. As far as I can remember this piece needed just a few takes compared to my Shuffle King entry. I like it better than the tune I submitted.
