My cover of, undoubtly, Little Walter's most famous tune, played to a jam track which includes the original extra and missing beats. So I include Walter's "mistakes" in it, too =).

I recorded this one back in January 2022 but had forgotten about it until I saw it today in my Bandlab library. Played through (I believe) a Shure green bullet mic and the Windy City plus tube amp. This was a single take recording, no splicing, which I'm quite proud of :)

I hope you enjoy it and it inspires you to publish your own covers! Thanks for listening!

Etta James - Hoochie Coochie Gal

Hello,

After few weeks of work I created this draft for harmonica in Hoochie Coochie Gal of Etta James.

To tell the truth it is not easy because you have to play relatively fast and bended licks on a slow A mayor harmonica.

I wanted to do the work because there was no harmonica in the track and it is a great artwork. It is not perfect.

Few bended notes missing and somewhere a little bit I am out of rhythm.

Although it is good for a base concept and practice all the bended notes of A mayor harmonica. You can try also 9th overblow in continue reading...

Hello All,

Track title: Mean Old World

Simply I can say about this backing track learning to "Beat along with the blues".

This was a bit hard the musical arrangement of the track with harmonica so I listened it few timesfirst day then practiced and tried few of licks to be applied.

It is also rather long having a long guitar and piano accompaniement and solo part.I have to find out what to play there and let them to play in solo or in accompaniement and change. continue reading...

Intro to Deep Down in the Ground by Sonny Boy Williamson I

Hello all,

Today I learned the intro to Deep Down in the Ground, by Sonny Boy Williamson I. It's only the intro, so 0:00 to about 0:25 of the song (link to the original song below). I used a D harp to play this song in second position in the key of A

I'm sure there are some techniques my novice-musician ear is missing, even with help from The Amazing Slowdowner.

Any feedback is much appreciated.

Thanks!

Hello :-),

Track title: Everyday I Have The Blues

I played accompaniement and solo for another Blues track of Chuck Berry.

It is my ever first time to play Eb harmonica. A slippy sweet one.

This helps me to understand blues structure, recognize my place within the band and shows me my limits. continue reading...

Hello,

Track title: Wee Wee Hours

Rare blues track of the pianist side of Chuck Berry. I tried myself to follow up the blues structure of this track.

I used the knowledge learnt and my feelings in balance the accompaniment and soloing in the right moments of the track.

This is that was born.

This Live recording is from an outdoor concert played in 2001, on an outdoor venue (my band was the only performace as part of a "Concert in the Park" series) with estimated 1,100 people attedning. The recording was made by just plugging a tape machine into the sound board so there is some uneven balance due to the level of various amps being mic'd through PA. This was my band "Gabriel & The Technicians" from 1999 to 2009, primarily a Swing Dance Band but we played Blues Festivals in addition to Jazz festivals. continue reading...

Hello Community,

I just jumped in a party to play some Rock n' Roll licks of mine created with the help of Bluesharmonica.com.

Nothing I had with me only my Bb harmonica. I was just after my Covid illness.

I tried more bended notes with more or less success. Until this time I bended only third hole half step in Rn'R.

Synthesizer played track is in F mayor, harmonica is Bb Hohner Marine Band Crossover.

We did not parcticed before, I just played my feelings.

The best thing was the atmosphere was created!  continue reading...
