Remember this when modding or monkeying with the component parts of a harpmic running a Controlled Magnetic or Controlled Reluctance element: It's important to make certain that the shell in which the CM or CR is mounted has no gaps, holes, or open passageways to the outside world. You know to seal all screw and brad holes, right? Bee's wax or a dab of silicon applied on the inside surface should do it. BUT WAIT! THERE'S STILL MORE! A move as simple as popping the grill on an old 'Green Bullet' could leave a hairline margin between shell and gasket when re-assembled if the gasket is old & brittle, non-compliant or non-stock, or simply misaligned. MIC MORSEL: If it seems that the re-fit isn't as tight as it should be, the cure could be as simple as applying a sealant to their contact surfaces by running your fingertip around them. Sealant? Yes, there are professional products -or you could get creative: Axel grease, hair gel, Crisco, bacon fat may very well serve your purpose. Chocolate? Field research is incomplete...
