In this lesson you’ll learn: how to identify pickups in the songs that you study; to play pickups from a half beat to as long as two bars in length; to play pickups that lead to the root notes of each common chord in the blues; to play universal pickups (pickups that work to lead well to any lick); to play pickups that lead to the common notes on the harmonica (a catalog of licks); how pickups are used to help the licks in your solos to flow better from one lick to the other; and most importantly, how intuitively feel in time where pickups start (we’ll do tons of reps together).

This lesson is applicable to most skill level players, though good control over bending will make the licks easier to play (or provide great exercise for those working on mastering their bends).
