Ok, "miracle" might be a bit much. Perhaps I've been influenced by too much exposure to Rick Santorum. What I will stress is how very handy and practical these little guys can be. Found in any hardware store and coming in a wide variety of diameters and thicknesses, they can be incorporated into a number of fixes involving LORD MICROPHONE. From centering and buffering of output connectors (one of my faves) to their use as auxiliary gaskets for mic elements and grills, they could provide the answer when you need to cover a gap or take-up the slack.
