A new offering from Eminence, as part of their British voiced "Red Coat" series, is the ten inch ceramic version of their Red Fang speaker which until now was only available with an expensive Alnico type magnet.  When this new speaker was announced at the 2015 NAMM show, I ordered a sample for test with our harp amps.  Comparison with the published frequency response of new and original speakers indicated more upper mid response with the ceramic speaker.  We then began testing it with the WEZO ME18 amp, against our current favorite harp speaker - the Jensen Jet Tornado.  Taken straight out of the box, and using a single speaker, the Jet sounded quite flat against the very colorful and present sound of the Red Fang - it caused an immediate wow reaction to everyone in the room.

Speakers, amplifiers, and human ear combinations are of course very subjective - but this speaker along with the way we voice the MegaTone ME18 results in an instant love connection.  It would be very interesting to hear on or two of these mixed into a Bassman cabinet.

Rated at 50 watts and very efficient, a single speaker is fine for any amp 30 watts or less.  Street pricing is around $75 and MegaTone offers a tenderized (broken-in) version for $90 plus shipping.  Downside to this speaker is that the magnet is large and weight is a hefty 7.3 pounds, and is only available in 8 ohms.  For more info: http://www.eminence.com/speakers/speaker-detail/?model=RF10C
