In this case, the "BUFFALO" is the full-sized Rochelle salt piezo-electric crystal element.

I bet you're relieved that you won't be trying to 'cup' a Bison -altho that would be a great photo-op... What I'm referring to is the dwindling number of full-sized crystal elements in the realms of Lord Microphone. I'm seeing a greater proportion of players opting to replace failing crystals (MC-151's and R7's) with more dependable elements. Yes, stability offers advantages, but be aware that the significant differences in impedance between these various units should be considered and adjusted for.
