... A SACK TO PUT IT ALL IN. So goes the old joke, "What do you get for the man who has everything?"

It's an ongoing dilemma for the harp jockey in transit: How do I move all this loose junk (harps and microphones)? Crown Royal bags? an old lunch box? A full-tilt Anvil hardcase on casters? Since most everything in Harpdom is adopted from some other intended purpose, In this week's "MORSEL" I'll appeal to the improviser within... Years ago I found that old pieces of luggage referred to as "overnight" or "vanity" cases made remarkably durable carry-alls for harp gear. The fact that they would often turn-up at thrift stores and yard sales meant they were great bang-for-the-bux purchases as well. The hard-shelled Samsonite remains my fave, tho' American Tourister, Skyway, Koch and a few other brands have produced these smaller sized 'bags'. You might luck-out and find one with its keys inside! They're amazingly sturdy and have a retro look that sez "HEY! I'm on my way to the gig -or maybe the airport!"
