Eric Noden

Beyond shocked and saddened to learn that late last week Eric Noden died.

As the "other half" of the Roots Duo with Joe Filisko; as an instructor; as a performer and producer, Eric was a master of traditional blues, especially on the National resonator guitar.

I met Eric a few years ago at the Harmonica Northwest retreat in Oregon. Inspirational and jaw-dropping as a performer, but at the same time he was the most wonderfully gentle soul you could ever hope to cross paths with.

A huge loss, and not only to the blues world.
