I may have seen some prior discussion about this. The plastic case that Hohner sells with its CX12 is a tad oversized. I.e., it'll fit not only the harmonica, but also a family of five. And their dog.

Has anyone come up with an alternative that protects the harp, but doesn't take up half of one's gig bag? E.g., I thought about modifying the smaller plastic case that comes with the Suzuki SCX-48, but the flaired body of the CX12 is just a tad too large to fit, vertically. There are a lot of pen and pencil cases and pouches out there that could be cool, but are either too small or too large in one dimension or another, or don't provide much protection. And Pelican makes some small waterproof padded boxes that might allow a player to drop his or her CX12 out of a 10th story window, and still be able to play it. But those cases may be overkill.

Any ideas out there?
