Focus... what YOU like... these are all subjects to get you thinking of what your focus will be for the new year. Even though this is what I do for a living, it's very difficult to set aside quality practice time. When I do get focused practice time (not just quick moments of jamming), it's VERY valuable to me and it's imperative that I have a focus so that I can grow as a player with the limited time I have.

My recent focus has been to play more on the high end of the harmonica (hole 6 and above) in 2nd Position. My goal for this next year will be to continue this as well as to refine some of the songs that have been simmering over this last year (some songs work well to allow them to evolve over time on the bandstand) and get them really happenin' in preparation to recording a new CD by year's end. I won't have much time, but I'll make great use of it... I'll know exactly what I'm going to work on before I begin.

What's your focus this year? How will you fill in this phrase at the end of the year, "I now can do ________ so much better now!"
