Hey Joe - I appreciate your candid / honest comments as you work you r way through the songs and exercises. Its reassuring to see someone else struggling with the same things - and man, your music background sure shows through!!

Hi Hank;
I am glad that you find my comments of value. I am going to be very candid so other students will realize that they are not alone both in their frustrations and in their elation at doing something well.

Joe congrats, I just saw the video, of you in concert. Temperature, I think, maybe rolling rhumba. I myself , just advanced to the second level. I wanted to ask you for any advice or suggestions on how you play a PULL. I think tht im semi famous for makeing things a lot harder than they really are. Thanks for any help. Dan

Pulls
Hi Dan;
Thanks for the congrats on the performance. I was nervous that I would forget the song. Memorization is not my strong suit.
I cannot figure out what level I am at. Regarding the pulls - David and I worked on pulls at my last lesson. I was not getting the stacotto (maybe not the best word to describe it) or shuffly sound before the next slapped note. When I pull my tongue off it has to be fast and I say "Ta". That gets the sound. I really have to think about it or I lose the sound.
I hope I explained it.
Enjoy yourself playing

Joe, Just wanted to tell you how much i'm getting out of the video lessons that you and Dave are doing, for Garys blues. I get on your home page, and I see all the videos, that you and Dave have done in the past. My question for you is WHEN DO YOU PLAN ON TAPEING A LESSON FOR GARYS BLUES. CHORUS 3,4, and 5. I find you and dave playing one to one. very very helpful. Whats next for Garys Blues ................ Thanks Dan

Glad you like his lesson. We're working on that right now... it takes a while for it to get on the site... (a month or so).
