Shuffle is a rhythm

You can have blues that is not a shuffle - Junior Well's Stomach Ache and Cha Cha in Blues come to mind.

Shuffle refers to how you divide the beat. If the beat divides into 2 equal parts, then it's not a shuffle.

Swing divides the beat into two un-equal parts, with the first part being longer than the second part. People often say that the first part is twice as long as the second part, but swing can vary a lot.

Shuffle rhythm and swing rhythm often sound similar, but shuffle always divides the beat into three equal parts.

You don't always hear all three parts because you may only sound the first and the third parts - so in effect you hear only two parts, with the first one being twice as long as the next one.

On that basic foundation you can build several flavors and varieties of shuffle.
