Up The Line Horn Riff
Hi Aki,
I loved the version of Little Walter's "Up The Line" horn riff that you played on the chromatic and have been unsuccessfully trying to play it myself. I was just wondering are you playing that on a 16 or 12 hole chromatic and does it matter? Looking at your mouth position on the harp I think you are starting off the riff in the second octave of your 16 hole which would be the first octave on the 12 hole. Am I right? I have been playing the diatonic for quite some time but I am just getting into the chromatic now.
Very much enjoyed your videos on playing fills. Looking forward to your other videos in the future.

RE: Up The Line Horn Riff
Hi Gerard,
Glad you enjoyed the video.
Yes, I was playing a 16 hole chromatic (a Hohner Chromonica 64) in that clip. That particular riff was played using octaves, so I ended up playing in the 2nd and 3rd octaves at the same time on the 16 hole, which makes it the 1st and 2nd octaves on a 12 hole chromatic.
Good luck with your chromatic studies!
- Aki
